Just as Pirates use stars to navigate their way across the seas, you can leave a trail of Stars to mark your own treasure hunting path. The number of Stars you will get in a level is determined by how much treasure you can collect, or more precisely the points they give you. A bar above the board will slowly fill as you gather more points and will indicate the current Star ranking achieved so far in the level attempt. You will want to collect stars as they can be of more use than just navigation. Each star will award you Pirate XP which could make you the strongest pirate on the seven seas!
